I broke my previous keyboard and went shopping for a new one (FYI: water + G15 == not good). I wanted another back-lit keyboard (like my previous G15). When I went to bestbuy (not my favorite store) I saw the slick Raser Lycosa Keyboard I decided to try it. My advice: don't. While the keyboard itself is great (I like the low, rubber covered keys) the neither the the USB port nor the headphone jack worked on either of the keyboards that I tried (I returned the first one and tried the second one in the store). The problem: Interference. My computer refused to mount my USB flash drive while plugged into the Lycosa and the headphones buzzed (like a radio). I ended up getting the latest (annoyingly orange) G15 keyboard. which works but I HATE ORANGE.

That's pretty funny. Sucks for you. Glad to see you're posting on your blog. For like six months I figured it was dead. Suggestion: post a photo, so I can tease you more. See here, for example: http://www.virtual-hideout.net/reviews/Logitech_G15_V2_Keyboard/main.jpg.
Hello.
Is razor lycos working on linux? I mean this extra keys.
Mostly. The lycosa key doesn't do anything but all of the other buttons work. It looks cool but the USB ports and headphone jack don't work
Thank you for the answer :)
And is there any way to bind this extra keys with commands? I mean to bind a 'play' button with 'mpc play' or something similiar ;)
Sorry for my English :)
I no longer have the keyboard but I assume that this would work. You could do this by running 'xev', pressing the key, closing xev, and copping the 'XXXX' in the last (keysym HEX, XXXX). In metacity (gnome) you would then open 'gconf-editor' and browse to /apps/metacity/global_keybindings and set an unused 'run_command_#' to 'XXXX'. Then go to 'keybinding_commands' and select the corresponding 'command_#' and set the value to your command. In compiz you would open 'ccsm' and go to 'General Options' and then the commands tab. Then edit the appropriate fields.
OK. So I'll buy this keyboard. Thank you.
I was 1 second away from ordering that keyboard.. With no good Linux support I changed my mind..
from my current experience, lycosa is a worst keyboard you can have on linux. It stops working regularly, and it blocks my mouse at the same time, and i can't use gnome menu anymore.... I've bought a usb hub with a power supply, but it didn't change my problem at all. My advice to linux user: don't buy Razer hardware !
